Doelgroep

Liquid intake is an extremely essential part of daily nutrition. Although the importance of drinking enough and on a regular basis is well known, people often times tend to forget or let slide throughout the day. The resulting dehydration can cause, promote and push various symptoms and diseases, while intensity and malicious effects of dehydration rapidly increase with age.
Therefore, our primary target group is stationary care for the elderly and mobile niursing care.
Another target group results from the application as an medical aid. The solution will be included in the medical aids catalogue and can be prescribed by physicians.

There are two primary sources of income:
The sale of drinking cups and the recurring fees for related data services.

Concurrentie

In the USA, a number of drinking bottles that follow a similar basic principle are available. However, they focus on the beauty, wellness and lifestyle market. There is only one product in France that focuses on the care market.
Our analysis of the available information shows that we have significant technical advantages compared to this product and are much easier to use in the care environment.

Unieke kenmerken

What sets LAQA apart from competitors is our unique and patented combination of sensors and the AI-driven data processing which is specially adapted to the needs of caregivers.
The drinking device is also capable of recording and analyzing complete and complex motion sequences. This allows to detect and track abnormal movements like tremor and rigor, typical symptoms of the Parkinson’s disease. The use of the drinking cup thus enables both - early detection of the disease as well as constantly monitor it.

Organisatie

The company LAQA GmbH was founded in 2017 by the two product developers and inventors. The company is based in Munich.
As product development and market introduction progress, we expect about ten people to work for the company by the end of the year.

After the pilot series has been developed, a first pilot phase takes place. The drinking cups will be given to different care providers who will test them in different settings.

Implementatiestrategie

Initially, the focus will be on the B2B market. The relevant market in Germany consists of 13,600 nursing homes and 14,500 mobile nursing caregivers. These companies and service providers can be addressed and reached very well at congresses, conferences, trade fairs and expert's meetings.
The same events are also visited by multipliers of the B2B2C market, doctors, pharmacists, naturopaths, nutritionists, etc.

Productontwikkeling

There are a variety of ideas that can be added to our product. Thus, movement data of the user's guide hand can be evaluated and examined for incidents relating to Parkinson's disease. The strap, which is designed to facilitate use with wet hands, can be designed to measure the grip strength of the user and thus monitor progressive osteoarthritis. Internationale ambitie

Even if distribution starts in the German-speaking region we intend to expand to other Euopean countries shortly. The necessary contacts for this are partly available already. At a later date, an expansion to the US and Asia is conceivable.
