AI-driven predictive behavior monitoring as the missing link for GLP-1
Predictive behavioral analytics technology that turns individual weight fluctuations into weight trend predictions for patients and weight loss speed data for care professionals, to personalize GLP-1 treatments (for obesity or diabetes). Our technology improves the efficiency and long term effectiveness of the treatment, and engages patients.
1. We need funding, to attend to all the commercial interest and opportunities in the market. Our world is in flux, as GLP-1 is disrupting the weight loss business.
2. We seek validation opportunities for both our efficiency and effectiveness claims.
The main problem we tackle is that overweight and obesity are the main contributors to chronic diseases, with significant costs for health and society.
Our solution transforms obesity treatment and focuses on the three main challenges that obesity treatment clinics face, namely:
1. low patient adherence and up to 60% drop out of weight loss programs due to side effects, perceived ineffectiveness of the treatment, in combination with high cost.
2. complexity and cost of patient care as clinics need to provide a wide range of services and support, including dietary education.
3. concerns about long-term effectiveness (long term sustainable weight loss), as post-medication weight tends to rebound; exacerbated by excessive loss of muscle mass when the weight loss speed was too high.
Our solution allows clinics to keep patients engaged, reduce clinics’ operational cost and improve the effectiveness of the treatment, including more sustainable weight loss for their patients.
Our solution is a combination of "blind" weight monitors (without numbers), our PBA, an app (Sinque) for users, a dashboard for care providers, an MVP level AI-agent for meal planning, and an ecosystem of services.
The weight monitors are for the clients of our customers (clinics), are provide clients with emotionally safe monitoring devices. Data acquisition becomes more reliable because the users are not inhibited or experiencing emotional confrontations when stepping on the weight monitors, and will do so more frequently.
The weight-based Predictive Behavioral Analytics (PBA) solution is an ML algorithm that learns the natural weight fluctuation of users, and recognizes behavior changes after a 2-week learning period. This enables:
• real-time trtacking of patient engagement, based on weighing frequency and other behaviors our algorithm picks up. Clinic staff accesses a dashboard using red, orange, green dots to indicate which of their patients need more urgent interventions, and which ones are doing just fine (green)
• early detection of the treatment effectiveness, enabling medical staff to personalize the treatment,
• accurate prediction of individual’s weight trends along the weight loss journey, allowing clinics and medical staff to make personalized lifestyle recommendations.
The solution includes an intuitive Dashboard, which uses red, orange, and green dots to indicate which of their patients need more urgent interventions, and which ones are doing just fine (green) based on engagement (weighing frequency) and average weight loss speed.
The patients have the Sinque app, which is used to acquire data (it communicates with the blind monitors) and to provide users with their weight trend predictions on an ongoing basis (the dial).
Our solution includes an (MVP) AI-agent for meal planning, based on nutritionist parameters, and the patients caloric behavior (deficit) straight from the dial. Super cool technology that can even make shopping lists and order groceries.
Lastly, around the data (behavior monitoring, based on weight) an ecosystem of other service providers is developing, such as Garmin Health, online pharmacy, even supermarkets are expressing interest.
The solution is patented.
Our solution contributes to the central mission, as people with a healthy weight live 4-7 years longer than people with overweight and obesity. Obesity is a precursor for other chronic diseases, so by reducing obesity we help reduce other chronic diseases and increase the longevity of people.
Also to Mission 1, as our technology helps individuals to adopt and keep a healthier lifestyle; initially as part of the treatment, but ideally people keep monitoring themselves after the treatment, to keep focusing on a healthier lifestyle and to take responsibility for their own health.
Mission 3: again because of the focus of our technology on improving people's lifestyles.
Our target audience are clinics and physicians that treat people for obesity, primarily. Given that our technology supports treatments using GLP-1, diabetes could also be targeted. In the Netherlands, 15% of the population is obese, and more than half of Dutch adults is either obese or overweight. In total via the clinics and GPs we could be reaching around 4 million people in the NL alone.
Currently, GLP-1 medication is not reimbursed by health insurance, so the care that is being delivered is private. For these private clinics, our technology can be seen as a remote patient monitoring tool, saving care professionals time by focusing only on those patients/users that need interventions and treatment changes.
In the long run, our technology contributes to reducing the number of people with obesity, which in turn reduces the health care cost related to obesity and overweight. In the NL alone, this is around 80 b per year.
We operate a B2B model, and charge subscription fees for our SaaS technology of € 10-15/user/month. Additionally, for larger clinics, we charge a platform fee and setup fees. They depend on the size of the clinic, but generally it is a monthly fee of € 300.
We also sell the monitors to the clinics, who then sell them to their clients. The monitors are € 40-60 and are a one-time revenue per end user.
With our blind weight management solution and PBA we do not compete with anyone as this is truly new in the market.
EW2Health is unique because it provides (B2B) clinics with insights that increase their efficiency and effectiveness (better patient outcomes) while improving the patient experience and increasing patient adherence throughout their entire weight loss journey.
Generically speaking, we compete with other remote patient monitoring tools (none in the weight loss space), and other physical monitoring processes that clinics use today: monthly weigh-ins at the clinic for instance.
PBA-Powered Patient Insights – Our Predictive Behavioral Algorithm (PBA) continuously analyzes patient progress, offering real-time patient monitoring and engagement tracking, dropout risk alerts, and personalized interventions to keep patients on track.
Numberless Weight Monitoring process – with non-intrusive, numberless smart scales that provide trend-based weight insights (with a numberless dial) without discouraging patients, reducing scale-related anxiety and increasing program participation.
AI-Driven meal planning – a bot that takes parameters from nutritionists and aligns diets with the calorie deficit a patient requires, derived from the weight prediction dial. Relieving the nutritionist from a lot of back and forth on likes and dislikes, etc.
Integrated Ecosystem - Connect with Garmin, Withings, Technogym, 𝗘𝗸𝗼𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘂 𝗩𝗼𝗲𝗹𝗷𝗲𝗟𝗲𝗸𝗸𝗲𝗿, Crystalloids, Clear.bio and top-tier nutritionists to enhance GLP-1 outcomes through seamless, scalable support.
GLP-1 Certification & Training for Clinics – specialized training and certification programs for doctors, nutritionists, and clinic staff, ensuring the right patient pre-participation evaluation, proper dosing, patient monitoring, and integration of lifestyle interventions for sustainable weight loss.
Summarized our solution enables:
● Data-Driven Personalization – No more one-size-fits-all approaches! Our platform adapts treatment strategies based on real-time patient data, allowing clinics to fine-tune GLP-1 dosing, nutritional guidance, and behavioral coaching for better preserved muscle mass and better long term weight loss results.
● Patient Engagement & Retention Strategies – Clinics lose up to 60% of patients during treatment. Our solution improves patient engagement, increasing program adherence and recurring revenue while reducing acquisition costs.
● Long-Term Success – Support patients beyond the weight loss phase, ensuring they maintain results and stay engaged with the clinic’s services for continued care and health optimization.
We have an approved patent for the entire process including the blind weighing, the algorithm that analyzes the weight fluctuation and the weight trend prediction.
The organization includes a software development core team (currently this is outsourced), go to market teams in the countries we are active in (currently this is NL and Brazil), customer success teams in the countries we are active in, and an operations team to manage the partners (such as channels, complementary products and services, and supply chain logistics).
Our technology has been tested with more than 4000 people in numerous pilots and real life situations, including hospitals and oil platforms!
At the moment, our technology is being used in a commercial setting at a few Dutch medical weight loss clinics, as well as a few Brazilian medical weight loss clinics.
Our current partners are:
Nationale Apotheek, Garmin, Lifecode solutions, Ekomenu, Retomed, TSEC and Innerbuddies.
Partners that we are adding to our list of involved partners are:
pharmaceutical companies (NovoNordisk, Roche)
Pilots demonstrated the significant improvement in adherence to programs (from 30-40% all the way up to 70-80%)
Weight loss results are generally correlated with adherence, so we also saw a significant increase in outcomes.
At one of our current clinic customers, we see that clients that are frequently monitoring themselves tend to increase achieved weight loss by around 100% (twice the weight loss).
We are implementing the solution first at our Ideal Customers: physical medical weight loss clinics. To reach them, we use channel partners, such as a wholesale obesity focused pharmacy and pharmaceutical companies, as well as companies that sell medical devices (scales, blood pressure monitors) to clinics and GPs.
The first few customers were achieved via direct outreach (email, linkedin).
The end user access our technology via the clinics.
We are already on the market in the Netherlands and Brazil; in the Netherlands we sell to medical weight loss clinics, such as Elysee. In Brazil we sell to plastic surgery clinics (that also provide weight loss treatments) and endocrinology clinics, as well as 2 companies that offer corporate wellness programs to their employees (Merck, Weg).
We have about 8-10 customers and around 200 users currently using our technology.
Our technology just won an ICT award in Sri Lanka!
Our main achievement is finding a product-market fit, and currently earning a small but recurring monthly revenue.
We are considering to improve the Sinque app with more AI agent technology (chat bot for diets, for instance). We are also launching a new numberless weight monitor, a bio-impedance scale. The app will be improved to also communicate body composition in an emotionally safe way. We are developing a monitoring program that incorporates Continuous Glucose Monitoring (CGM) to personalize GLP-1 treatments even better with more insight. Lastly, we are in the process of linking a supermarket app to the AI-agent for meal planning, to make buying and consuming healthier food a seamless experience for the end user.
Our international ambitions are big: we are planning to expand to the UK, where GLP-1 has been much more embraced that in the Netherlands, as the UK decided that the GLP-1 medications will be covered by NHS. Other countries in Europe are Spain (we are a member of the Barcelona Health Hub). Out of Brazil, we will conquer the rest of the Latin America, as well as the USA. The USA has a much more similar health care system to Brazil, so we learn in Brazil and then move north. One of our founders is American, and we are doing 2 accelerate programs in the US next year: the Mayo Clinic Data accelerate program, and Cedars-Sinai in Los Angeles.
